Sir John Willis Appeal
Back to Home page  Back to Public Shows

The sudden passing of Sir John will be marked at this years Cosford. I have been talking with the RAF about a tribute flypast in memory of Sir John, as this was the only airshow he was involved in organising in recent years----it's looking very positive at the moment, but I will confirm in the next journal.

Several  members have phoned to see where any donations should be sent and that got me thinking back to a chat  I had with Sir John on the flight line back at Longhorsley in September---we discussed what charities we should support this year, as usual we agreed a £1000 donation [already sent to the Cosford charity and we had thought about another £1000 to the RAFA charity or the Vulcan to the sky appeal---we never finalised that chat, but after discussing with the committee ,we think it would be fitting now for this money to go to the aircraft that John loved so.

I am now asking all LMA members if you would like to send a donation in his memory, please remember how much he has helped us by securing Cosford each year and the enjoyment he has given us at past AGM`s, It doesn’t matter whether it’s £5 or £20 or whatever you would like to give, but please make your cheque out to the LMA or the VULCAN TO THE SKY TRUST and please initially send to myself address (shown below). I will collect and send with the LMA’s £1000, I am sure he would approve and I will send a letter to his family and explain what our intentions are.
