At last some wonderful weather to support the excellent hard work that the Catton Group put into this event.
This year – for the first time- it became a whole weekend event with LMA members turning up on Friday and staying until Monday. It was good to see such a wide range of members – some of whom were attending their first LMA fly in and others who are well established regulars. Many of them took advantage of the early breakfasts and evening barbecues prepared over the whole weekend by Dave Brown and some of his “little helpers”. During the day the Catton ladies provided cakes, sandwiches, strawberries and cream, and apple tart. This makes it sound more like a “food festival” rather than a fly in but no one seemed to complain!!

It was good to see 2 of our oldest members present – Derek Martin and Roger Bale – both displaying a high standard of flying and airmanship which put some of the younger members on their mettle.
On Saturday our Chairman Dave Johnson and his “entourage” flew all day before disappearing home in time to fly at the full size Cosford Airshow next day. Our Chairman certainly gets around!!
So with “wall to wall” sunshine and excellent flying all weekend everyone went home tired, fully fed, and very happy – what more could we ask. Thanks once again to the Catton Group for making such excellent facilities available to us – please come next year if you missed this one!
