Castle Kennedy is located in Dumfries and Galloway. It is an old RAF base which was Home to No. 3 Air Gunnery School & 2 Torpedo Training Schoolhas.

Opened in 1941 under 25 (Armament) Group, Castle Kennedy was first occupied by the CGS from July 3, although most of the flying was done from nearby West Freugh because  of water-logging.  No 10 AGS formed on July 24th, 1941 with Defiants and Lysanders.  The unit moved to Barrow on December 16th, 1941, the CGS having already moved out earlier in the month.
