A report and pictures by Ken Forty.

This show, formerly the Three Counties Show, continues to go from strength to strength. This year's was the eleventh of this format and was the last under the direction of Colin Clark. Colin certainly ended on a high with a record attendance over the two days of more than 4,000 paying visitors. Not only that, but he had obviously kept up the payments on his weather protection because both days were a real oasis of lovely weather in a long spell of unsettled stuff. In fact, the Sunday of the event seemed to be the hottest and sunniest for many a day.

As always there was a good mix of models with a very good standard of flying on what can be a somewhat challenging site for the larger model! One feature of this show is that it attracts so many members of the general public as well as being a mecca for enthusiasts who enjoy the flying, the beautiful location and the good range of traders in attendance.

Commentary, as always, was by Dave Bishop.

The Herefordshire Club wishes to thank all those who helped make this year's show such a success. These include all those LMA members who took part in the preparation and on the day, members of other clubs and the many members of our own Herefordshire club who played their part.

Trophies were awarded for various categories and presented by Herefordshire Club President Anne Powell. Winners were:

Best Military WW1:     DH2 Ian Redshaw
Best Military WW2:     Vickers Wellington Andy Johnson
Best pre-WW2:           Vickers Vimy Roger Bale
Best post-WW2:          Piper Cub Steve Copson
Best Civil:                     Ponnier Ian Turney-White
Best non-scale:            Privateer Colin Clark
Best Landing WW1:    Fokker DR1 Steve Duffy

Winner of the Blue Ribbon Memorial Trophy in memory of Capt. Keith Whyham (Top of Show) was awarded to Tony Hooper Avro with his 504K.

We have already provisionally booked 3rd and 4th September for our 2005 show which will be run by Colin's successor, Bernard Morris. The Show will be to the same format, with the same organising team and only awaits final sign-of by the Herefordshire Club AGM in November.
