This was the second year that the LMA had been invited to John Greenfield’s club site based at the Vauxhall Recreation Club Model Flying Section in Luton. Based on the edge of a golf course it is a fabulous site with lots of room to enable even the largest of models to perform. Last year was sadly a washout. This year the weather was much better and there was plenty of flying over the two days.
Here is a general view of some of the aircraft displayed on Saturday.
Chris Gale (yellow cap) and his son, Richard turn-up at many of the LMA events. Here you can see what they brought along to this event. In the front is Richard’s Cap 232 from the Glen’s kit. Behind is Chris’ 25% scale Tiger Moth from the Flair kit. Finally, dwarfing them all, is Chris’ 50% Piper Cub.
Ah the canteen! This provided us all with a warming ‘all day’ breakfast and hot drinks; a much welcome facility run by Joe and Angela Cannella.
This is an extremely nice model of a Hawk from Joe Canella one of the local club members. Shame it didn’t fly over the weekend – he was busy feeding us all (see above)!
