Hi all, the LMA Gaydon event 2016. Is nearly upon us and In addition to the large number of trade stands that will be present you will be able to visit the static display areas set aside for large models, WW1, WW2, Jets, and a variety of club sports type. A unique display this year will be set out by Steve Woodhead and members of the Langar Club comprising of some 20 large model aircraft which have been constructed by the well-known builder John Simpson over the last 10 years. All the static displays are set out in such a way that you are able to walk around the whole of the Conference Centre building.
We also hope you will support something new for this year – our series of workshops that will take place throughout the day. These will be held in the Lecture Room which is located at the far end of the large model gallery. The times are as follows: –
10.30 to 11.30 Mark Hinton – Jet airframes and installations
Mark is a well-known model jet flyer who flies at LMA events in the UK and various other prominent public displays in Europe including one of the very best – Jetpower which is held every September in Germany. If you want to understand more about this aspect of the hobby, then this is a “must attend” workshop.
12.00 to 13.00 Tony Nijhuis – Model aircraft design
For the past 30 years, Tony Nijhuis has been one of the most respective and leading authorities on model aircraft design. The ‘Tony Nijhuis’ brand is known and respected globally through his innovative approach and quality of this designs. With over 60 model aircraft designs to his name and a UK manufacturing business passionate of delivering aero modelling to a global market, we are very pleased to have Tony as a guest speaker to give the visitors to Gaydon, a fascinating insight into commercial aero modelling design, the market through the ages and the future of aero modelling….
In addition, there will be a prize competition at the end of the talk with a ‘kit’ presentation of Tony’s latest design to one lucky winner…so don’t miss out….
